According to the Hollywood Reporter, Michelle Obama celebrated her 49th birthday with a new Twitter account and new hairstyle. The First lady debuted a new FLOTUS Twitter account and new blunt bangs, the publication reported on Jan. 17.
The First Lady subtly showed off her new hairstyle on the new account, embedding a photo of her new style with the tweet, “The First Lady just met with Inaugural citizen co-chair David Hall ahead of #MLKDay of Service: http://www.2013pic.org/service.” The photo shows Lady O rocking a Zac Posen dress and flaunting a full blunt bangs just a few days ahead of President Obama's Inauguration.
Unlike her previous Twitter account, this new Twitter account @FLOTUS will be signed by the First Lady. “Her previous handle @MichelleObama has existed for a while. But the tweets were predominately generated by staff members of the Obama 2012 campaign, not by Obama herself,” per the Hollywood Reporter. “For her new FLOTUS one, a personal feed, it will be all Michelle, all the time.”
USA Today compared the First Lady’s new hairstyle to two other celebrities with new bangs, “Bangs seem to be making a comeback: Both Duchess Kate Middleton and Kim Kardashian have recently acquired new cuts with long bangs.”
No one knows for sure whether these bangs are real or whether this new do is part of the big reveal of her Inauguration fashion. The Huffington Post aptly asks, “are these for real like Kate Middleton's or is this a clip-in situation, à la Kim Kardashian? What if it's a wig and she's just punking us all?”
The New York Daily News captures the essence of this Inauguration Day style preview. “Her bangtastic new coif, a sleek shoulder-length cut with thick, heavy bangs, previews her hotly anticipated Inauguration Day ensemble.”
Is the new @FLOTUS Twitter account the best bet for a first glimpse of the First Lady’s Inaugural Day ceremony dress and Inaugural ball gown?
