Michelle Obama portrait: The focus is her new 'do (Photos)

The official 2013 Michelle Obama portrait was revealed at The Huffington Post on Feb. 20, 2013. The photo, taken by Chuck Kennedy, shows the first lady with her new bangs hairstyle. She wears a dark two-toned dress and pearls. The portrait is set in the Green Room of the White House.

President Obama's wife recently joked about her new hairstyle being the result of a "mid-life crisis." "This is my mid-life crisis, the bangs," the 49-year-old First Lady said in a clip for the "Rachael Ray Show." "I couldn’t get a sports car. They won’t let me bungee jump. So instead, I cut my bangs."

Said President Obama about his wife's new look, "I love her bangs. She looks good. She always looks good."

However, not every high-profile person loves Michelle's new look. "Is it compulsory you have to like the bangs?" CNN's Piers Morgan asked CNN's Erin Burnett during the Commander in Chief Inaugural Ball. "Because I’m not convinced."
