First Lady style is what Vernetta Jenkins is all about, and then some.  Jenkins can add another accolade to her entertainment resume that already includes producer, director, actor, voiceover artist and writer - that of (lookalike) President Barack Obama's wife, Michelle Obama.

Jenkins is a professionally trained actress, singer and dancer who has been working in the impersonator/lookalike business since November 2008. In such a short time she has become one of the most sought after First Lady Michelle Obama lookalikes.    

Because of her dead-on look, she is known as “America’s Premiere Michelle Obama.”  Jenkins, as the First Lady, is requested at corporate, comedic and faith-based events, bringing joy and inspiration to millions of astonished people who might otherwise never have an audience with America’s First Lady. ~ Thriller spoof

How this all began for the "First Lady?"  A native of Chicago, Illinois, Vernetta Jenkins' friends bombarded her with phone calls and emails immediately after the 44th First Lady started appearing in the news in 2008, telling her how much she looked like Michelle Obama.

Jenkins believed her friends, took a hiatus from her day job as a television producer and began volunteering full time at the “Obama for America” State Headquarters in Los Angeles, California where she resides.  Instantly other volunteers, staffers, and even national campaign officials were doing double-takes on a daily basis. No matter how she is dressed, Vernetta is stopped on a daily basis with the statement:

You look just like Michelle Obama!"

Her response to such recognition:

I’m very flattered that people honestly mistake me for Michelle Obama. Who wouldn’t be! She’s clearly a very intelligent, articulate, compassionate, and graceful woman...not to mention, a terrific role model of a dedicated wife and mother for women of any color or nationality.”

All of Jenkins' TV appearances as Michelle Obama began after the election.  She made several professional “First Lady” appearances, including a cameo on Jimmy Kimmel Live.  Since then, Jenkins has filmed a cameo in the upcoming Warner Bros. feature film The Obama Effect (2010).   

It is the first feature film that is about the 2008 election and is written, directed and starring actor Charles S. Dutton. Vernetta Jenkins has made a guest appearance on Live With Regis & Kelly where she was nominated for a “Relly Award for Best Real Person.” She currently has two YouTube parody music videos running, which collectively have garnered over three million views: Obama Does Thriller and Blame It (On the Economy).

Jenkin's past career credits as an accomplished television producer include over 20 network reality and talk shows from Big Brother to The Dr. Phil Show (Dan Schneid as Dr. Phil). In 2008 she sold her first docu-reality show to Lifetime Television called The Premier and I, a fairy-tale romance starring actress LisaRaye McCoy-Misick and her husband, The Premier of the Turks & Caicos Islands.

If any talent can make one a believer, it definitely has to be Vernetta Jenkins ~ as a celebrity lookalike she is the closest to the real thing!
