The question has been whether or not First Lady Michelle Obama would be able to match her inaugural attire as she did in 2009 and in true fashion; she took risk and made statements.
The Inauguration Day Ceremony:
The First Lady of the United States (FLOTUS) opted to wear a navy blue with grey Thom Browne pre-fall 2013 silk jacquard coat and underneath a Thom Browne silk jacquard a-line dress. To add a little sparkle to the occasion, she added a Rhine stone encrusted J. Crew belt which was on and off a lot during the ceremonies. Suede boots were by Reed Krakoff. Tom Browne's designs were inspired by a men's silk tie. Being that he is predominantly a men's wear designer this was a surprise, but his keen eye on a tailored garment for a woman was flawless.
Statement made:
FLOTUS is confident in whom she is and that even though it is a man's world a woman can still bring it!
Inauguration Ball:
So who was able to be graced with dressing FLOTUS? Jason Wu of course! She wore a a a velvet detailed long halter-neck and open back ruby chiffon gown, showing off those arms almost every woman wishes for. The accessories were kept simple for the occasion.
Statement made:
Ready to paint the town red!
