A skit called "The Evolution of Mom Dancing" has racked up nearly a quarter-million views in the less than 24 hours since it was uploaded on February 22, 2013.
Michelle Obama looks "tots" cute -- as in short for "totally," not little kids -- as she shakes her way with her bangs through dances like "the go shopping, get groceries" and "sprinkler" stuff.
The proverbial and popular "raise the roof" and "hip bump" shows the First Lady getting comfortable with her moves. From the videos of Michelle dancing on Ellen in past years, we know that she's got more rhythm than President Obama.
The "happy snapper" dance is cute, but the "just the hands part of Single Ladies" is tré funny, as is the text of the "Where's your father? Get him back here!" dance.
Mrs. Obama really shows off her moves in the "shake your hip twice to the same side" part, and the "out of sync electric slide," whereby she breaks into the real dance that just about every African-American wedding reception or party indulges in at some point during the evening.
"The reel it in" is cute, "the pulp fiction" is required dancing, and the "oh my God, I love this song!" is nerdy and funny, as is the "driving the station wagon."
But "the Dougie" is the stuff, whereby Michelle highlights her newest haircut with the swipe of the hands on both sides of her hair, ending it with a funny bang. Oh, there's that bang word again.
With President Obama hanging out with Tiger Woods, and Michelle Obama breaking out more of her dance moves, I'm glad to see the First Couple relaxing a bit into their second-term roles, and worrying less what opponents say.
