Michelle Obama turns 50 years old on Friday, January 17, 2014, and the celebration is planned for Saturday, the day following. The First Lady of the United States has said she’s “50 and fabulous!”
On Saturday, a big birthday bash is planned at the White House where she will be dancing, according to a CNN report on Friday. President Barack Obama will be celebrating her milestone with her too, according to reports.
Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama was born January 17, 1964. She’s the current First Lady (the first African-American First Lady in the United States), a wife, a mother of two daughters – Malia, born in 1998, and Sasha, born in 2001 – a Chicagoan, a lawyer and a writer.
When she became the First Lady, she changed women's thinking about fashion, by wearing some of the most dazzling gowns on the market. She also affected the lives of women's spending on clothing -- she was spotted at Target and she wears J. Crew clothing line. She made the ordinary woman feel comfortable about being herself, even though she is extremely accomplished.
She grew up on the South Side of Chicago. After attending Princeton University and Harvard Law School, she returned to her hometown of Chicago to work in law. She worked at the Sidley Austin law firm, on the staff of Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, and for the University of Chicago Medical Center before going to Washington, D.C. as First Lady.
Michelle Obama has always projected an uncommon confidence that inspires thousands, and she is even more assured of who she is at the age of 50.
The First Lady moved our nation with her “Let’s Move!” initiative -- a program promoting good health and fitness for young Americans. She always expresses how much she supports her husband, President Barack Obama, unashamedly; and she is among the most independent of the First Ladies the United States has ever witnessed.
We Wish You a Very Happy 50th Birthday First Lady, Michelle Obama!
