First Lady Michelle Obama will speak at the private funeral of Maya Angelou on Saturday. To be held in Wait Chapel on the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston Salem,NC where Angelou taught, the service will be streamed for public viewing on the schools web site and simulcast on OWN at 10:00 A.M. EST.

The First Lady presented a special honor to Angelou at the BET Honors in 2012 and considered the well respected port one of her "she-roes." In 2011 President Obama presented the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Angelou. In their acknowledgement of Dr. Angelou's passing, the Obama's called her "a fierce friend."Having bee a supporter of Hillary Clinton, Angelou endorsed Obama when Clinton pulled out of the 2008 race for president. Angelou spoke at the inauguration of President Bill Clinton, penning and reciting the seminal "On the Pulse of Morning.) Former President Bill Clinton will also reportedly be in attendance.

First Lady Obama is one of many high profile people who are expected to be in attendance at the "A Celebration of Rising Joy" service. Rolling Stone reports country singer Leann Womack who popularized "I Hope You Dance" will sing that song at the service. Angelou, who was a professional dancer before knee problems ended her career, was known to be a country music fan and considered "I Hope You Dance" one of her favorite songs. There have not been many details released about the memorial which Oprah, who held the acclaimed poet as a mentor and friend, helped plan.
