After spending 11 birthdays, Christmases, and New Years being held captive, Michelle Knight was finally able to ring in a New Year in style. In a YouTube video published on Jan. 1 by YouTube user Miles Evert, Michelle Knight is seen being called onto stage during a concert at the "Cleveland Rocks New Year's Eve 2013 – Electric Ice!" party.
In the video Yasmine Yousaf, who is a member of the band Krewella, called Knight onto the stage as the group played its final song of the night. Despite the fridge temperatures that reached as low as 20 degrees, Knight can be seen singing and dancing on the stage as the group performed.
Michelle Knight was one of three women who were kidnapped and held captive by Ariel Castro for nearly a decade in Cleveland, Ohio. Knight went missing in 2002, and wasn't seen again until her rescued on May 6, 2013.
Ariel Castro was arrested and charged with multiple counts of kidnapping, rape, aggravated murder, and many other charges. He later plead guilty to 329 of those charges in a plead deal, and was sentenced to life in prison without parole, plus 1,000 years. Castro killed himself inside his prison cell in September 2013.
