Michele Bachmann to attend Research Council Values Voters Summit

On August 18, 2011, Republican Congresswoman and GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann confirmed she will attend the Family Research Council Values Voters Summit that will be held during the weekend of October 7-9 in Washington D.C. Bachmann won the Iowan straw poll, however front runner Mitt Romney, and recently announced GOP candidate Rick Perry did not attend. The Family Research Council, along with additional conservative organizations, host the event each year which draws leaders and voters with Christian conservative beliefs.
Held regularly since 2006, the Summit aims to reveal even stronger and clearer definitions of conservative policies in the 2011 summit following the announcement that Go Proud, a nonprofit organization of those who identify themselves as gay, lesbian or transgendered conservatives, would have a prominent position in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). The inclusion resulted in a boycott by large Christian conservative organizations such as the Heritage Foundation, the American Family Association and the Family Research Council.

Jim Jordan (R-OH), Rep. Steve King (R-IA), host of “The Mark Levin Show” Mark Levin, presidential candidates Ron Paul and Rick Santorum, President of Eagle Forum Phyllis Schlafly and more. Check back as more confirmations are expected from other Republican invitees in the weeks to come, including invitations to Gov. Rick Perry, Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio, Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, Ollie North, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Jan Brewer.
