Cleveland's own Michael Symon won the People's Choice Award for his mouth watering Fat Doug Burger at the 2014 Amstel Light Burger Bash. The Fat Doug is a burger with coleslaw, pastrami, stadium mustard and Castello Creamy Havarti cheese.
More than 25 chefs from across the country competed in this prestigious event, yet Chef Symon and the B Spot restaurant team captured an unprecedented fourth win for the People’s Choice Award. The Burger Bash was held February 21 in Miami Beach as part of the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival.
When asked about the win, here's what Chef Michael Symon had to say: "The B Spot team knew that competition would be fierce, so we went back to our roots with the “Fat Doug,” topped it with delectable Castello Creamy Havarti cheese, and produced a truly delicious burger. Winning [the 2014 Amstel Light People’s Choice Award] for the fourth time was a thrill and an honor!"
