Michael Vick takes new dog to PetSmart training classes

On Tuesday, Yahoo Sports reported that Michael Vick, infamous dog fighter and longtime NFL football player, has enrolled in dog-training classes with the family's new pup at a PetSmart in New Jersey.

In Oct. 2012, Michael Vick had confirmed rumors that he had obtained a dog for his family.

The dog, a Belgian Malinois named "Angel," was spotted with Vick in training class by a tipster, who then alerted the publication, Crossing Broad, of the latest Vick/canine news.

Apparently Vick, along with his family and a bodyguard, are signed up to take six classes at the store. From the photos shown at Crossing Broad, it appears that Vick and Angel are not the only students in class.

No matter what the activity, the mere mention of Vick in the same sentence with "dog," stirs strong emotions from most dog-lovers. Though Vick is beloved by thousands of football fans, there are still thousands of people who will never forgive, nor forget, his infamous dog-fighting past.

Vick was banned from owning dogs for several years following raid on Bad Newz Kennels. Those familiar with his particularly violent past involving dogs, hoped that he would never again be in possession of a canine.
