The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Monday that Michael Vick is expected to miss next Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay. Michael Vick pulled his hamstring late in the first half against the New York Giants. Nick Foles stepped in the role for the Eagles and helped lead Philadelphia to a 36-21 victory.
NFL.com reports that Vick will be out at least a week. The timetable for his return all depends on how healthy his hamstring feels going forward. The loss of Vick will undoubtedly change the dynamic of the Eagles’ running game. Michael Vick led the team in rushing with 79 yards yesterday.
While, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven’t won a game yet, their defense has not been the problem. For the most part, they’ve been great against the run, and control the passing game fairly well.
According to Chip Kelly, once Michael Vick is 100 percent healthy, he will return to the Eagles as the starting quarterback. Yet, it looks like Nick Foles has earned some quality playing time for the rest of the year.
Philadelphia is (2-3) and tied for first in the NFC East. Even though Philadelphia is below .500, they have the number two offense in the NFL.
