Michael Vick deal: Eagles restructure deal, but nothing is guaranteed

It looks like a Michael Vick deal has been completed to keep the QB in Philly, well in theory that is. Vick's new deal with the Eagles doesn't guarantee anything, actually. The only thing Vick's new deal guarantees is that he will be on the spring roster, but when it comes to money and playing time, those both have to be earned.

NFL.com calls Vick's new deal "a one-year trial. It's a "prove it" deal. It's another "last chance" for Vick.

NFL.com reports "Vick will take a big pay cut from his previous $15.5 million salary. NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Vick can earn "up to" $10 million. NFL.com's Albert Breer reported Vick's contract is a three-year deal that voids to one year on March 15, so it's essentially a one-year deal, making Vick eligible for unrestricted free agency in 2014."

So in other words, if the Eagles like what they see, Vick will be around in 2014, if not he will be looking for work else where.

It will be interesting to see how Vick plays this training camp because for the first time in his career he could be playing for his job.
