Michael Vick attends dog training classes at PetSmart

Michael Vick is attending dog training classes at PetSmart with his family dog, Angel. She's a Belgian Malinois, which TMZ reports March 5 as being one of the "toughest breeds around" that are often used by the Navy SEALS. In fact, when Osama bin Laden was killed, the SEALS had a Belgian Malinois by their side.

Vick, who plays with the Philadelphia Eagles, has signed up for about six classes at PetSmart in New Jersey with Angel. Crossing Board reports that an insider revealed Vick often visits the store and the dog classes are held Monday nights.

A poll on TMZ asked readers if they think Michael Vick's new dog will be a "lover" or a "fighter." The vote is almost tied with "lover" gaining a slight lead.

It's been four years since Vick was released from a federal prison over having one of the most famous dog fighting rings in U.S. history. His probation ended last summer and he was legally allowed to own a pet.

In October, Michael Vick said this:

"I understand the strong emotions by some people about our family's decision to care for a pet. As a father, it is important to make sure my children develop a healthy relationship with animals. I want to ensure that my children establish a loving bond and treat all of God's creatures with kindness and respect. Our pet is well cared for and loved as a member of our family. This is an opportunity to break the cycle. To that end, I will continue to honor my commitment to animal welfare and be an instrument of positive change."
