Life after football has been quite successful for “Live! With Kelly and Michael” host Michael Strahan. According to a report by TV Guide on April 2, the former NFL star has confirmed he’s joining “Good Morning America.”
As the new gig will only be part-time for Strahan, he made it clear during the Wednesday broadcast of “Live!” that his first priority is still with his co-host Kelly Ripa.
“The big news is I’m going to be on GMA now. No matter what, this is going to be my No. 1 priority. You are my No. 1 priority.”
The former New York Giants defensive end will be appearing on “GMA” during the 7 a.m. hour just before fulfilling his hosting obligations with “Live!” which starts at 9 a.m. Strahan first was made aware of his new job on Tuesday night following a movie screening and said he realizes that hosting both shows will be a challenge.
Appearing part-time on “GMA” is probably best for him for now because as he said, he has “a lot going on” and understands he has to “be smart about it.”
Michael Strahan joins a sort of revamped “Good Morning America” team. Josh Elliot recently announced his departure from the morning show to join NBC Sports.
