Former New York Giants’ defensive end and current co-host of “Live! with Kelly and Michael,” Michael Strahan headlines a solid group of seven former NFL players, who will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday evening.
Strahan’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday will be his highlight, but the end of his engagement with former model and longtime girlfriend Nicole Murphy will be a "sack."
Strahan and Murphy decided to end their engagement, according to E! News and a representative for the couple told the entertainment channel, “They love each other very much but with the distance and work schedule it has been hard to maintain the relationship.” The couple blame the distance between each other, of why things could not work out.
Nicole Murphy, 46 was married to entertainer Eddie Murphy, prior to dating Strahan. Nicole just finished the third season of reality show, “Hollywood Exes” for VH1 in Los Angeles, while Strahan tackles a busy full schedule with the popular morning talk show, Live! with Kelly and Michael and “Good Morning America,” in New York City.
Strahan, 42 has four children between two ex-wives, Jean Muggli and Wanda Hutchins, and Murphy have five children with Eddie Murphy, and Nicole publicly admits that her and Eddie Murphy still communicate and are great friends.
In a recent interview with “toofab,” when asked how Nicole and Eddie Murphy keep things civil, Nicole told the interviewer, “You know what…we have five children, and those are the most important things, I mean those are blessings that we had with each other, and I think it’s just important to be cool with your ex.”
As for Strahan, his parents and children will likely join him at the Pro Football induction taking place in Fawcett Stadium Canton, Ohio, but it is not clear if Nicole will be by Strahan’s side at the ceremony.
Strahan and Murphy were engaged for five years.
