Michael Savage vows to post Media Matters staff pictures and 'pertinent information' on website


 
Right wing talker Michael Savage vowed yesterday during his broadcast that he will retaliate against media watchdog Media Matters for America by posting pictures and “pertinent information” about the organization's staff on his website. He made the comment almost in passing during one of his infamous rants, but did not explain what he expected his followers known as the “Savage Nation” to do with the information.
 
The history of right wing extremists using “wanted” posters against abortion providers is well documented. Recently the right wing Christian group the American Center for Law and Justice celebrated its court victory for the “truth truck” that promoted incendiary attacks on Dr. George Tiller. Sadly two days later Tiller was dead, assassinated in his place of worship. While the court case and Tiller’s murder cannot be directly linked it demonstrated a certain morbid insensitivity that the group continued to trumpet the court victory after Tiller’s death.
 
The election of Barack Obama has apparently led to an increase in the stockpiling of weapons by so-called gun rights activists. While anti-Obama celebrities like Chuck Norris, Pat Boone and Ted Nugent have suggested that it is time for a revolution against the U.S. government, others have called for military insurrection based on the theory that Obama is a Muslim “Manchurian Candidate” who was not U.S. born. A recent Tea Party event in Arkansas featured a speaker who vowed that thousands will be dead in the streets in revolt against Obama.
 
Against this backdrop the threat to post pictures and personal information about media watchdogs as a response to criticism can legitimately be perceived as a threat. Michael Savage may be famous for brash talk and incendiary language, but recent history must be taken into account as his “Savage Nation” may take the talker’s inflammatory posting as marching orders to take action against his enemies.

    Micheal Savage's real last name is Weiner. So whoever "follows" him is really part of the Weiner Nation, not the Savage Nation.

    So, by posting personal information of these staff members, what does he want to happen?

    What does he expect to happen?

    And if something bad happens, will he say, "Well "I" didn't do it, so why should "I" be held responsible?"

    We've got prisoners in Gitmo who have done much less than this guy, so let's arrest him NOW. And at his trial, just ask him, "Sir, what did you expect to happen by doing this? Sir, have you no shame?" Then let him go and let the world spit on him.

    This is horribly written. What in the world do the events outlined in the second and third paragraphs have to do with Michael Savage? This is incoherent babble at best. Take some writing classes, please.

    It's perfectly legible to me, Ike. Weiner is making an implied threat against MMfA for quoting him. Weiner and places like the Nuremburg Files don't post information about their enemies so that people can update their christmas card list, they do it in the hopes one of their deranged followers will kill them.

    Perhaps a course in reading comprehension for yourself is in order?

    Michael Savage is a petty little man that is compensating for his shortcomings. ?A man that would fail to pass anybody's gaydar, Savage looks like he's flaming. If any harm comes to any of the employees then Savage should be held responsible. He is doing just like the killer of Dr. Tiller, he's making terrorist threats.

    The middle paragraphs give the reader a better view of the Weiner threats and a clearer perspective by which they should be judged.

    Neocon Sympathizers hate it when someone shows a corrolation between various rightwing insanities. It removes their ability to plead ignorance.

    OK, fine. Let's post his address and the addresses of all the right-wing nuts that think this is just fine. The reality is that this kind of action is unconstitutional. The preamble says "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America." How can those people who have their addresses published enjoy "tranquility", protect their "welfare", or have "liberty" when they are under a threat of constant fear for their lives? I see no justice in this action on Michael Savage's part and I would ask is this man an American? Or is he a citizen of the "Savage Nation?" Can we deport him back to this nation for violating the constitution? Just how far are these idiots prepared to go?

    Savage has freedom of speech and every right to say he disagrees with what is being done by Obama. He does not, however, have a right to incite violence. And that is what he is doing.

    How ironic and cheap it is, that the savage-Wiener, a wealthy man, has the gall to ask listeners to send money to his "legal fund."

    It has been said that his former Paul Revere Society had nearly a million dollars in its coffers when, denied tax-free status by the IRS, crapped out. I wonder how much of this funding was personally used for his boat purchases etc

    I don't know if Wiener has EVER won any of his many suits against the world; his arrogant and disgusting mouth gets him into all sorts of legal troublee, then he asks others to bail him out.

    I eagerly wait for the day when he mentally goes down in flames -- hopefully during his last broadcast. That would be classic and I feel that his ever-more demented state has him well on the way to a psychotics oblivion.

    After listening to the threats conveyed by Savage, I realize that any abusing spouse making these kinds of overtures would be taken into custody immediately. This is the legal definition of making terrorist threats. So why isn't Savage under arrest?

    I would just like to add something...We need to go after these hate talkers and put them behind bars for inciting violence by the legal means that are already available to us. This is a sure fire way to stop hate speech. Once the consequence of hate speech become to severe, then and only then will it stop.

    We also need to send a strong message to those that broadcast hate speech and their advertisers that we will not tolerate hate speech any longer. Once the money drys up, the hate speech will finally stop.

    Uh, Liberal Slapper...Do you make sense to yourself in your own head? I can't help but wonder if you really know how ridiculous you sound? I defy you to find one incident of liberal incitement of violence against conservatives. Other than right here: I am an experienced boxer and weapons handler I invite you to come to an SCA practice in San Diego (1st Sunday of the month) and try to slap me. I have said before that eschew violence, but I do not run from it either. One more question: Do you speak in all capital letters too? Do you know that it looks moronic. Mother Jones are you listening? With a name like 'liberal slapper' you know it has to be stupid.

    What someone really needs to do is petition the FCC to remove this freak--and all others who espouse violence on-the-air. I'm serious. Write, call the FCC and get lots of other groups to do same. This guy needs to be removed ASAP. Hello? Anybody listening?

    Greg, are you talking to me? If you read the body of my response you will note that I say that I eschew violence. Liberal Slapper's online name is a stated threat in itself. Is he the freak to whom you are referring? I wrote what I said because it gets a little old hearing liberals referred to as cowardly or unprepared to defend themselves. My point was to make it clear that we are not all flower loving hippies, though I do have a real nice garden with flowers and vegetables that I tend to daily. Am I a freak? Or are you a knee-jerk reactionary? I would suggest that neither of us are either. I would further suggest that you read and digest the entirety of written responses and digest them in context. Read Liberal Slapper's comment again and ask yourself where you were with your poignant response when he equated liberals with the KKK? I am sure that you mean well, but your response was over the top and probably qualified as a non-sequitir since I never explicitly threatened anyone.
