The big news this week in the world of both college football and the NFL was Missouri defensive end Michael Sam going public with the fact that his is gay. Sam did interviews with ESPN and The New York Times regarding the sexual orientation. While Sam revealed the news to his teammates at Missouri before the season started, the news didn’t hit the main stream until this past weekend.
ESPN.com has a story up reporting that Sam’s father, Michael Sam Sr., is struggling with the news. You can check out the piece here.
The website also has a story regarding which teams could potentially take Sam in the 2014 NFL Draft, which takes place in April. Our Detroit Lions are pegged to have a ‘low’ chance of drafting Sam. Other teams that fall into the low category include the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders while the franchises that are rated as having a ‘medium’ chance of drafting the Tigers alum include the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers.
