Michael's Craft Store's join WUA to help to keep America warm

The spirit of holiday gift giving may be over but gifts of the heart are given all year round. And during this winter season we can continue giving by actually helping create some wintertime items.

Very cold weather is widespread, all across the country and there are people that can use warm blankets. To help give blankets to those in need, throughout the country, as well as locally, Michael's Store's are having warm up events. Michael's has acquired squares by knitter's and crocheter's around the country and will now host an event to help the organization called Warm Up America, (WUA).

All are welcome to this event which they are calling a "Joining Party", where crafter's come together and join 7 by 9 inch squares that were donated by themselves or other crafter's and join them together to make beautiful handmade afghans. All over the country people will be coming together and joining these squares to create these blankets for people in need and Michael's and WUA will be giving the finished blankets to local charities.

Check Michaels.com to find your local store and join others who share your love for the art of knit and crochet and help create these much needed blankets. The event is this Saturday, January 25th, 2014 at Michael's Stores from 1 to 4pm. Let's help local charities to help keep America warm.
