Michael Muhney was abruptly fired by “The Young and the Restless” executives and has exited the role of Adam Newman. Allegedly Muhney was making unwanted and inappropriate advances on his co-star, 20-year old Hunter King.
TMZ reported Michael Muhney's firing from "The Young and the Restless" on Jan. 4, alleging that "Y&R" received complaints from Hunter King that Muhney grabbed her breasts on two separate occasions. Apparently the 38-year-old married dad of three has often bullied and harassed Hunter and other co-stars on “The Young and the Restless.” Insiders say that the latest complaint from Hunter was the “straw that broke the camel’s back” and Michael Muhney was released from his contract.

Adam Newman, portrayed by Michael Muhney since 2009, has been a popular character and fans have threatened to boycott the show. Muhney’s last air date will be Jan. 30, the same day as co-star Billy Miller exits the role of Billy Abbott on “The Young and the Restless”. Hunter King portrays Summer Newman, daughter of Phyllis Newman and Nicholas Newman. King’s character is the niece of Muhney’s character.
Over the past year “The Young and the Restless” has lost quite a few fan favorites, including Jeanne Cooper who passed way in May 2013 at the age of 84 and Michelle Stafford who exited the role of Phyllis Newman after 15 years.
