Michael Moore: NRA doomed after ‘Sandy Hook’ shooting

Michael Moore believes the NRA is doomed following the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary weeks ago. In speaking with the Huffington Post on Friday, Moore feels that the Connecticut massacre was a “tipping point” in the way America feels towards guns.

In speaking to host Marc Lamont Hill on Huffington Post Live, Moore said that unlike many other tragic events in our nation’s more recent history, people haven’t forgotten or become distracted from the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting last month.

“After Christmas when parents started taking their kids back to school and dropping them off in the morning, they couldn't get this out of their heads,” Moore added.

“That's the thing ... the NRA, they are doomed as a result of this."

With that said, not everyone agrees with Michael Moore’s sentiment. In the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy, Piers Morgan came out and suggested that having more guns in America would be pure “madness.”

Morgan’s anti-gun stance resulted in over 25,000 online signatures asking the British import to be deported. Morgan since came out and addressed his haters, sticking to his stance on guns but also implying that if America’s gun culture and loose gun laws don’t get fixed, he might very well deport himself.
