NBA legend Michael Jordan is the subject of a controversial new eBook released Thursday as a Kindle Exclusive by Sports Entertainment Publishing. In the book, which chronicles Jordan's personal life since retiring from active competition in 2003, addresses the biggest question still lingering in the NBA today: Does Michael Jordan plan to make one final comeback?
"Michael Jordan: The Final Conquest" explores in fascinating detail an intriguing prospect raised by 48-year-old Michael Jordan himself: Will the Chicago Bulls legend return at the age of 50 to prove that no feat or challenge is too great for the indomitable spirit of a true competitor?
Although few may truly believe Jordan would ever return to the game again, the NBA icon maintains that he may not yet be done with active competition.
"The game of basketball has been everything to me," Jordan said at his 2009 NBA Hall of Fame induction. "My refuge. My place I've always gone when I needed to find comfort and peace. It's been a source of intense pain, and a source of most intense feelings of joy and satisfaction. And one that no one can even imagine."
"Although I'm recognized with this tremendous honor of being in the basketball Hall of Fame - I don't look at this moment as a defining end to my relationship with the game of basketball," he added. "It's simply a continuation of something that I started a long time ago. One day you might look up and see me playing the game at 50. Oh don't laugh. Never say never. Because limits, like fears are often just an illusion."
Other topics covered in the hot new eBook are Michael Jordan's 2006 divorce, his majority stake acquisition of the Charlotte Bobcats, his questionable handling of the 2011-2012 NBA lockout, his engagement to longtime girlfriend Yvette Prieto, and what impact a 50-year-old Michael Jordan would ultimately have on the struggling game of professional basketball and his otherwise pristine legacy as the game's greatest player.
