Pamela Smith is suing Michael Jordan for child support and paternity claiming he is the father of her 16-year-old son according to TMZ.com. According to a report on March 2, she never intended to call Jordan out, but her son, Grant Reynolds (a.k.a. Taj), pleaded with her to make his famous father responsible for him and to be in his life. Sources that know Smith told TMZ that she's always had a good connection with Michael and does not need the money to support herself.
Pamela Y. Smith, 48, filed the lawsuit on Feb. 6 in Fulton County Superior Court, Atlanta, Ga. stating that Michael Jordan is her son's father. She is requesting him to take a paternity test, share dental, medical and hospital costs that are not covered by insurance and pay child support. Taj was born June, 1996.
Taj posted a video in December claiming that Jordan is his biological father. The video appears in this article.
"I have some exclusive, exclusive information I feel like everybody should know. If you've been hearing any rumors on Twitter, Instagram, MediaTakeout, any of that...it's true," Taj declares. "I feel like ya'll should know and I feel like he should be more in my life about it, too. I'm his son. I've met him. I want him to be more in my life."
The court document that was filed also states that she wants to legally change Taj's last name to Jordan. A spokeswoman for the Bulls star, Estee Portnoy, would not comment on the allegations.
