A Michael Jordan marriage is in the works. According to ESPN on March 7, the NBA Hall of Fame legend applied for a marriage license at the Palm Beach County courthouse.
Jordan has been engaged to Yvette Prieto, a Cuban-American model, since December 2011. The license means the marriage should take place in the next 60 days.
This great news comes amidst some troubling legal troubles for the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. Jordan has been named in a paternity suit by Pamela Smith, who claims her 16-year-old is Jordan's son. According to Smith, she filed the paternity suit because her son asked her to so he could prove that the NBA legend is his father.
The boy was born while Jordan was still married to Juanita Vanoy, making him the second high profile celebrity to find a possible son later in life. Arnold Schwarzenegger also revealed that he had a son by a mistress years ago, a pronouncement that led to him losing his long-time wife.
It appears that any indiscretions in the past won't stop this Michael Jordan marriage from taking place. It makes sense not to hold someone's past against them, although Jordan is still denying the allegations that he is the father.
