Michael Johnson charged in serial strangulations on Southside of Chicago

Charges have officially been filed against a man in the murders of three women from the Roseland and Pullman community in recent months.

Shortly after midnight, police announced that Michael Johnson, 24,  of 140 East 120th Place,  is charged with 3 counts of first degree murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault - bodily harm.

Johnson was arrested Thursday after police say his DNA was a match to DNA found on the victims.

All of the victims were black females engaged in what police called "high risk" lifestyles. All were strangled to death and all were found in abandoned buildings.

Still under investigation is his possible connection to the . May 16, 2010, Lutelda Hudson, 29, found on the 11900 block of South Harvard

    I know you want to lay it to rest but I dont think he did it, im his friend and this onslaught of charges need to be dropped and a he needs to be left alone.

    I am not impressed by your findings...that man did those crimes and DNA has already linked him to it! God will have the final say so in his life! I just want to see justice..what he did was un-human and dispicable! Leslie was loved and so were those other women he killed. The two women that got away from him will be coming forward and this might seem dragged out over the course of some years. But eventually his lawyers will have no damn choice but to give up and let the trial begin! I am patient ...it will happen..justice of the innocent lives he took WILL prevail !!!!!!
