With the release of the blockbuster hit 'This Is It', the world is literally clamoring for more of Michael Jackson. In an exclusive new interview, the editors of the film Tim Patterson and Brandon Key discuss what can be expected with the release of the DVD, and how it is a highlight of their career.
Patterson and Key, iIn the new revealing interview with the LA Times reveal working on the project has meant to them. Patterson jokes, that "I could have easily gone to TMZ and made a few million dollars."
Brandon Key says of working on the project, "This will be the most important and incredible thing I do in my career. I never imagined I would get involved in concert rehearsals and end up making a motion picture."
After a final version of the movie was done in mid-September, according to the LATimes:
"We could have shown more behind-the-scenes stuff, but Kenny felt strongly that Michael would have wanted to include more songs for the fans," explained Key. "It was also Kenny's decision that we wouldn't do it like a documentary with interviews and new footage." And according to the interview," Patterson and Key went on to edit and shoot additional content for the DVD, which is expected to ship in January or February with several hours of new footage, including performances of songs such as 'Stranger in Moscow' that didn't make the theatrical release."
Patterson revealed the emotional nature of putting 'This Is It' together, "I never imagined that I'd ever work on a project where I would break down and cry in the edit bay." A shared sentiment by all who had the opportunity to work with MJ.
The fans will certainly have a lot to look forward to with the release of the DVD, which will feature 2-3 additional hours of footage, as confirmed by Kenny Ortega.

Pretty amazing that there is even more footage to come in the DVD. Fans are glad he included the songs in there though. Now that the theatrical run has been extended though... everyone can see it (or see it again)
I preordered my DVD this morning. That was before I read this article and now I am even more excited. The movie is amazing and I'm so happy that the world is getting to see Michael the way they should have seen him all along. It makes me sad that he isn't here to see his redemption. He was nothing like the media portrayed him to be and I feel angry and cheated. RIP Michael.
Is the pope a catholic?? Of course we will be this DVD and be excited for it!
oops... be = buy
Of course I will buy ... you can't stop wild horses ... I treasure everything MJ that I have.
Of course we're excited. Just wish it was out for Christmas, but I guess its something to look forward too. If they packaged the whole 100 hours of footage i'd watch it, probably in one sitting. We want Michael!!!

I couldn't agree more! I've seen the film twice already, and I plan on seeing it again in IMAX in a few days. I can't wait to watch the DVD with extra footage. I just love watching MJ's talant--he truly was and forever will be THE King of Pop!
If you could put all the footage, chronologically, as it happened- for the good and the bad ( like with Michael there is such a thing) I would be thrilled! If only Michael new that his fans loved him for all that he was, and wasn't too. I think he would haven't felt so picked at for everything. Michael, both the man and artist, was fabulous no matter what. Michael could have showed up in his robe and sang one song- off key (which could never happen but you get my point) and we would love him regardless. Why? It was not only because of his talent but because of who he was: his strong work ethic, his values and beliefs that Love should reign in your heart, his sensitivity to other's pain and plight, and his humbleness, courage, and determination to act on helping others, plus add in his brillance, genius, and God given talent. So yes, we want more, as much as possibly still existant of Michael and no we will never turn him down.
Sara, I feel the same way. Michael, I truly believe, never deserved any of the pain, shame, and hurt this world put onto him. One day, for Michael's sake, these people will have to answer to their Maker, sorry for them on that day. And, I hope Michael and the rest of us who believed his in his innocence is there to witness this.
OF COURSE!!!!i will be the first in line to buy the DVD. I have already seen the movie 5 times and going again soon. Cannot get enough of MJ. May he rest in peace and continue to inspire the world towards peace and L.O.V.E. Brilliant entertainer, humanitarian and i am sure, the worlds best DAD!!!
HELL YEAH!!!!
