Pre-sale tickets for advanced screenings as well as normal screenings of Michael Jackson's documentary  "This Is It" have earned a new title for the late King Of Pop, and have sent fans into a frenzy with hopes of purchasing tickets before they are sold out. A spokesperson for Fandango.com, a leading online movie ticket retailer, has said at this point in time, "This Is It" is the 'best-selling concert film of all time. We were expecting a huge rush of ticket sales within the first few days. They are still going strong as of Thursday, fives days in. It shows no sign of abating.'

The executive vice president and general manager of MovieTickets.com, Joel Cohen says of ticket sales:

'Michael Jackson is such an iconic figure, with a fan base that transcends even some of the most bankable stars in Hollywood," Cohen said. "We expected there to be a large demand for tickets for an ‘event' film like this one, but MovieTickets.com has never seen such a high volume of sellouts this far in advance for any movie.'

Combined, Fandango.com and MovieTickets.com report sold-out presales tickets for nearly 1000 showings of the film which opens Wednesday, October 28.

A Portrait of Michael Jackson created from millions of hand-drawn dots will invite millions of fans worldwide to become part of Jackson's legacy by getting a free dot in the portrait in their name. A dot is not drawn on the canvas until someone signs up for it; at least one million fans (dots) are needed to complete the image of the King of Pop, with room in the portrait for many more millions to participate. The organizers of this tribute have the support of Ken Kragen, who was responsible for "We Are the World," The Robson Family (Joy, Wade and Chantal), and Don Wilson, the creator / director / producer of the "Man in the Mirror" video. Proceeds will be donated to several charities that were dear to Michael, including The Make A Wish Foundation. Every single hand-drawn dot David places on his canvas represents a real person. People have joined David's projects from over 150 countries. Every Michael Jackson fan will be able to get a free hand-drawn dot added to the portrait in their name. Jacquelyn, MJ's latest autopsy report said he did not have any drugs in his system other than the cocktail administered by one very inept Dr. Murray. He was totally acquitted of the second molestation charge and as for the first one, the boy Jordan Chandler has said that he lied because his father made him do it.
I really could care less if you prefer New Moon but I'm tired of hearing these same old tired lies being repeated by people who don't even want to be bothered with the truth. And you can keep your wooden-acting Robert Pattison. My ticket money is going where the REAL talent is.

  • cawobeth 2 years ago

then Denise- why do you bother commenting here ?
guess you wouldn't know "real" talent if it smacked you in the face. Doesn't matter, Michael was more gifted than talented. Sorry that you are behind the times as far as FACTS regarding Michael. You have obviously been one of the people who sucked-up to the lies of the media. Your loss not to recognize why this man is so loved. May the honesty & compassion of his compositions pursue in waking up more millions of people.

I'm not at all surprised at the great interest in this documentary. Michael not only IS about love- the most enriching & compelling truth of life; he's captivating & it's enthralling to witness his magnetism- even if only on screen. His abilities to express himself creatively is often described as amazing because it's from his heart AND soul. By this time, many would also like to see what condition his condition was in; due to his stress & insomnia I might ad.

cawobeth, did you READ my post at all? I was defending Michael, totally. Someone had posted saying they wouldn't bother to see a movie about a druggie pedophile. If you had read my post you can plainly see I was commenting in response to that person in defense of MJ WHOM I LOVE VERY MUCH, thank you. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when fans start attacking fans because nobody even bothers to really read a post.

  • denise 2 years ago

And btw that comment was in response to a comment made in the previous article where they said This Is It is outselling New Moon, so I'm not sure why my response to her turned up here. But I was only trying to set the record straight to say he was NOT a pedophile, nor a druggie (at least not the way the media is trying to say). I'm not sure how my comments got so misconstrued. (???).

No surprise that Michael is once again breaking records. I can't wait to see This Is It. The lastest autopsy information that came out said there were no drugs other than Propofol in his system. There was a fake report a few weeks after he died that said he was filled with pills and only weighed 112 pounds. The real report said he weighed 138 pounds and his health was within normal limits. It also confirmed that he had vitiligo. What the corrupt media did to that man is beyond disgraceful. They tortured him for years with their lies, and some are still kicking him even though he's dead. All that is left is for the two boys who made the accusations to come forward and tell the truth. Anyone who cares to find out the truth, that Michael was innocent of those allegations, just needs to spend a little bit of time on the Internet, listening to the jurors speak and reading all the evidence that proved him innocent. The corrupt media is certainly complicit in his death.

It is not surprising that the This Is It film is doing well. What the media does not understand is, despite their efforts to to dissect him for decades, Michael Jackson is still loved by the majority of the world. Negative news about Michael Jackson may help ratings in the past, but with his sudden passing, people who have been blinded by the media lies finally woke up. People suddenly come to realize that they have lost the biggest entertainer on planet earth. Not only that, they start to recall the amazing legacy of good work and positive messages that Jackson has given to the world.
