Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine Jackson, walked the red carpet with her grandchildren and sons, Tito, Jackie and Marlon. On the red carpet, Jackie Jackson commented: "First of all, Michael is a big fan of Cirque. He's seen all the Cirque shows. He loves Cirque. So when you got Cirque and Michael Jackson together, you expect to see something fantastic."
The show, written and directed by Jamie King, combines the music of Michael Jackson along with exciting dance and aerial work that Cirque du Soleil is known for. Visually stunning special effects illustrate the spirit and legacy of Michael Jackson as well as the issues that Jackson was passionate about.

Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour is the third Cirque du Soleil show to focus on a music legend. The Beatles LOVE show debuted in 2006 and just celebrated its 5-year anniversary. The Elvis Presley show, Viva Elvis, opened in 2009.
Immortal, the soundtrack to the Cirque show, will be released on November 21 by Epic Records. More than 40 of Jackson's greatest songs are presented in a unique musical tapestry created by musical designer Kevin Antunes.
