2009 was a year of many celebrity deaths, but perhaps none as shocking as the untimely death of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. According to a new report, Michael Jackson was the #1 top searched topic of 2009 on the search engine, Bing. With the completely shocking reality of his untimely death, the release of This Is It, the film, the companion album, and news of the DVD and Blu-ray release as well as the many tributes to the King of Pop - it is no small wonder why MJ would be the top searched topic. Also making the list were Jon and Kate Gosselin of Jon and Kate Plus 8 fame who made and continue to make headlines, also made the list.
According to The Independent, the following is the ranking of the top searched topics of 2009:
1) Michael Jackson
2) Twitter
3) swine flu
4) stock market
5) Farrah Fawcett
6) Patrick Swayze
7) Cash for Clunkers
8) Jon and Kate Gosselin
9) Billy Mays
10) Jaycee Dugard
