Michael Jackson's death homicide says coronor. AP Photo
Michael Jackson's death has been ruled a homicide by the coroner, AP is reporting.
Speaking anonymously, as the results have not been publicly released, a source says that the LA County Coroner has ruled Michael Jackson's death a homicide.
This does not mean that necessarily charges of murder will be brought against anyone, but does make it more likely. Tests have shown that the anesthetic propofol, plus two sedatives, were found in Jackson's body. They were being used to treat Jackson for insomnia.
Jackson's doctor has told reporters that far from wanting to give Jackson the drug he was trying to wean him off it. It was only after a night without sleep for the star, where the sedatives did not work, that he finally gave Jackson the propofol at 10.40 am on the day of his death.
It must be emphasised that a ruling of homicide in Michael Jackson's case does not mean that a crime has been committed but it does make the filing of criminal charges against his doctor, Conrad Murray, more likely. Possibly along the lines of manslaughter (or involuntary homicide) being the appropriate charge.
