Monday, the Michael Jackson estate signed the largest record deal ever made. The deal with signed with Sony Music Entertainment. The recording deal is reported to be as much as $250 million, and will guarantee the Jackson estate $200 million, the Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday.
10 of Michael Jackson’s albums will be distributed over a seven year period. The record deal includes DVDs, unreleased recordings, and video games. The two disk album for “This is It” was also included in the deal. Jackson sold over 31 million albums since his death with 75% of those sold outside the USA. The largest record deals before Jackson’s were with Madonna at $120 million, and Jay-Z at $150 million. At his death, Jackson’s debt was estimated at $400 million.
The Los Angeles Times reported Rob Stringer, chairman of Sony’s Columbia Epic said Monday: "There may be theater. There may be films and movies. There may be computer games - or multimedia platforms that I don't know about today that will happen in 2015."
Michael Jackson died at 50 years of age on June 25, 2009 after a heart attack.

"He has literally affected everybody in the dance world and the pop world." "I was blown away by how precise his moves were and how amazing his lines were. He is the epitome of music that just comes out of a dancer's body. He hears the music and defines it through every ounce of his body," the Salt Lake Tribune reported.
