Obviously none of this proves any actual fraud for money committed by Michael E. Robinson, Sr. However, the circumstantial evidence points that Mr. Robinson may not be who he claims to be. When his proposed legislation was used as a separate document by others in the autism advocacy field, in order to suggest changes Mr. Robinson should consider, Mr. Robinson became extremely irate, according to some sources that had dealings with him. Parents are urged to use caution when choosing a lay person advocate for help when dealing with such matters as due process hearings. Using an untrained and unqualified individual could result in further damaging the case rather than helping.
Even if Mr. Robinson’s intentions are not about getting as much money as he can by riding popular cases, even if those intentions truly are good, he should be more straightforward about his credentials. Whenever asked previously by others for those credentials (usually on a listserv or group) he disappears from that group. That behavior is dodgy at best.
Even when things are happening quickly, take the time to further investigate a person’s credentials. If they are who they say they are, it should not be a problem locating and verifying information with a simple phone call or internet search.
People should not stoop to attacking this gentleman (whomever he may be, Michael E. Robinson, Jr., Robby Robinson Jr., or Michael E. Robinson Sr. are the names he’s used so far). It may be possible that his wild claims are a manifestation of a possible mental health issue.
If that is true, then he would be an individual that an advocate would be working on his behalf to help him and should not be attacked by advocates whose job it is is to defend against such behavior.

Your story is filled with false allegations that are not worthy to be dignified by a response. Making such false statements is quite unprofessional for an individual stating to be a 'reporter'. Listing phone numbers to those you've slandered goes well beyond your first Amendment rights. Anyone who truly needs an Advocate and isn't online to sit and spread false rumors from 'unidentified sources' will come to me and get help. I'm not aware of anyone else doing anything at all to help Dallas, which is sad. I won't defend myself against false allegations, instead I'll get back to work. I am personally acquainted with Michael E. Robinson, Sr. I can tell you he IS everything he claims to be and more. After 7 years of struggling to get FAPE for my disabled child I found Michael. For the first time in her life my child finally has FAPE. I have found in my own life that those people who would seek to destroy and be on that mission are easy to find. The author of this trashy article seems to be a person with too much time on their hands. Perhaps a person with this much extra time should spend some time finding a real job. I also wanted to point out this: "very famous for slamming people." Read all 120 prior articles to this one, and not once do I "slam" anyone. They are positive, uplifting articles about things that affect children with special needs or they are reports about science news, including interviews with real experts, etc.
Also, this is a great way to deflect. If I am lying, as you say, prove it. Where are you registered as a lobbyist? Where did you attend college? etc. You can take the time to insult me and yet you cannot take the time to type two sentences to answer those questions? I presented facts as I knew them. I very specifically made it clear this was NOT meant to be an attack on you personally, but meant to inform ppl they should investigate ANYONE who is to help them. Some are more qualified than others.

Children whose rights get violated everyday. He is helping MY KIDS. I find it quite interesting that Kristen and Regina want to argue that Mike is "everything" he claims... if that's true, how do you explain the NASCAR story? How do you explain the fact that he's not listed as a lobbyist?? These are things that are very public information and they give cause for worry. When someone makes erratic claims like this it's a sign of illness. I don't know what the two of you get out of supporting that, but worries me.
As a concerned father I read this article with great dismay. I know Michael and his family. To say these ludicrous things about him and to list phone numbers and names of people ? What type of reporting is this anyway ? To Dave, why is it you wish for Michael to prove to you meaningless items when it comes to advocating for your child or others ? Has he taken money from you and did nothing. Out of all of this I see a man using his own income often to help others. I see a man giving all of himself only to be talked about in a way that I would talk about a thief. Being an active mom in the war against restraint and seclusion I will address Heather's comments on her own comment sheet. This is a place where readers comment, you have had your chance young lady. You've slandered a great man. You've put doubt in parents mind when they are already going through alot. You had the burdon to prove everything and did not prove anything. All of this can be stopped by simply providing PROOF of his claims, and PROOF that I am lying, other than the same three people using the comments section as to appear to be 10 different people in support of Michael.
I know who he is and he takes orders from his "manager." I have personally seen this done. I do not even think he knows what he truly is doing and his "manager" has been smart enough too help herself, as she always has and still does. Michael's "manager" is very stubborn and I believe she doesn't want to make herself look foolish for allowing a weirdo to live among her and her family. After googling and reading about him when he first came into his "manager's" life in 2008, I was skeptical. I had heard his Nascar story from Michael and he even claimed that his wife use to be a famous wrestler. He also told me that he smokes pot, legally and I was also told this by his "manager". I believe that he cannot comment about anything because he is caught in a lie. But I guess lying isn't a crime now, is it?
It seems pretty clear to me, Michael. So far, Heather has stated results of her fact checking on YOU. You have not addressed any of the points in order to "set the record straight" but instead have gone into a frenzy of name calling, snide remarks, and veiled threats of legal action. Why not post the "truth" if what Heather said was a "lie"? Very simple solution, no? Post your Lobbyist ID number so we can all go online and check it.

And in case there is any question I AM A REAL PERSON! I have 4 adopted special needs kids. All of them address him as Uncle Michael even though we are not related. He has and does put in countless hours working on my childrens' cases and I have paid him nothing. He is the kindest, humblest and most sincere person I have met in a long time. I know his entire past and I also know that he won't defend himself while he's busy defending parents being sued by schools over I.E.E.'s as we were. He will defend the parents. This was the exact email that he sent to me. Why was he using the name "Robbie Robinson jr."? I was just as confused. He is full of lies. So he has scars. That proves NOTHING to me.

From what I know he got married to someone to become American after hiding in the country for decades undocumented. It's sad that our community listens to fools like this. I have HFA/Asperger's. My oldest son, Thomas, age 11, also has Asperger's. My youngest son, Brandon, age 8, has Pervasive Developmental Disorder/Not Otherwise Specified. They said he didn't fit into other categories of Autism because he was "too social." Oops. Guess we shouldn't have done the early intervention!
I am married to a wonderful man who is not Autistic but has physical disabilities. He's much older than I am (by 27 years) but it works out for us. He's much more patient with me and my quirk

I would like to reply to your comment, if I may.
Advocates CAN and SHOULD charge money to cover services rendered. That is to cover the cost associated with providing those services (such as filing fees.) The problem is, Michael does NOT just do pro bono cases even though everyone seems to claim he does. There is one verified case of where he received a check in his organization's name and could not cash it and asked that it be made out to him. When the caretaker involved got suspicious about it, that is when he decided to offer services pro bono.
The problem wasn't that he offered his services pro bono, the problem was that his organization did not have a D/B/A account. This is how businesses keep money separate from personal funds. If the funds of a business co-mingle with a person's personal funds, it's easy to commit fraud with those funds, even unintentionally. Having a separate account keeps things aboveboard.
