Michael Douglas is currently burdened with the double task of promoting the upcoming Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps but You Will if This Preview Reflects How Boring the Film Is and talking about his battle with throat cancer. Douglas appeared on David Letterman last night, speaking frankly and humorously about his diagnosis and treatment. When Letterman pointed out that he didn't look ailing, Douglas grinned and said, "That's because I'm on stage."
Although he's just begun the first stages of chemo to treat a walnut-sized tumor in his throat, he says it "knocks you out really hard" from the get-go. He also confirmed that his treatments will prevent him from overseas promotion.
While Douglas acknowledged that the cancer is more serious than he initially thought, he added that he's very optimistic about his recovery. He concluded that the doctor's outlook is positive.
