Michael Douglas moves out of the New York City apartment that he shares with his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. On Sept. 8, the New York Daily News reported that Douglas was seen moving several bags from the apartment while still wearing his wedding ring. This move follows news that the couple has decided to separate.
Recently, Douglas told the media, "my wife and I are fine." He denied any sort of marriage "crisis" despite what the media has been reporting. This move suggests that he and Zeta-Jones' problems are more serious than Douglas wants to admit -- publicly anyway.
Michael Douglas moves out just a week after news of his separation broke. He and Zeta-Jones have both been spotted by the paparazzi since the surprising news that their 13-year marriage was on the rocks. Even still, both actors have been wearing their wedding rings.
"I have a crisis at home? No, I think the press has a crisis. We take a temporary separation, but the press, it gives you stuff to write about," Douglas said. It is hard to say whether or not these two will make it. Everyone is hoping for the best but, in Hollywood, a separation is almost always followed by a divorce.
Although Michael Douglas moved out, there is still hope. Catherine Zeta-Jones has reportedly been telling friends that she will do "everything in [her] power" to keep her family together. Douglas and Zeta-Jones have two children together, Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10.
