“Last Vegas” teams a quartet of Oscar winners including Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Robert DeNiro and Kevin Kline as lifelong friends who decide to take Vegas by storm after the group’s lifelong bachelor decides to take a bride. Of course the guys are no longer as young and spry as they used to be which presents some problems and in the case of today’s reviews, some expected “Hangover” puns.
"This is the like "The Hangover Part 43." – Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times
Just call this movie The Hangover: AARP Strikes Back. - Tirdad Derakhshani, Philadelphia Inquirer
The cast of Last Vegas makes the film more than just a Hangover retread with older actors - but not a whole lot more. Ben Kendrick , Screenrant
Still, the appeal of Douglas and company should get audiences into the theater and help the movie recoup its production costs. After all, this is a CBS Films production which by nature are always low risk, high reward ventures. The studio is known making inexpensive movies with top tier talent and this is no different.
Directed by Jon Turteltaub (“National Treasure,” “The Kid,”) and written by Dan Fogelman (“The Neighbors,” “Crazy, Stupid, Love,”), “Last Vegas,” may not have hit the jackpot with critics, but it’s a long way from busting at the tables.
“Last Vegas” is now in theaters.
