On Aug, 28, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have reportedly separated. But, with that act in mind, is this split the final act in their 13 year marriage? Not necessarily, according to Reuters.
The news agency printed a statement from Zeta-Jones' spokesperson that read:
"Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage."
The interpretation of this message from the famous couple could mean that there is just a blip in the union and that things can be fixed so that their roles and husband and wife can continue an possibly happily ever after. In fact, neither party has reportedly filed for divorce and neither has allegedly filed for a legal separation through the courts.
By way of background, a lot has happened since these two celebrities married in 2000. Douglas' son was arrested, Michael was diagnosed with throat cancer and Catherine has had to contend with the typical symptoms of bipolar disorder.
And so, as Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones go their own ways, at least for now, the two are not split for good even though their separation has been announced by Catherine's representative.
