Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones have reportedly split up, and are currently taking a break from their marriage to reevaluate their relationship according to Wednesday, August 28 reports from People magazine.
The Hollywood power couple have been keeping their distance from each other since their last public appearance together last April 22.
The two have been reportedly taking separate vacations with their kids, most recently Michael Douglas was spotted off the coast of Sardinia on his yacht , while Catherine Zeta-Jones was home in NYC with the children.
Sources close to the couple revealed to the magazine that: "They're taking a break," one source says.
Neither Michael Douglas,68 nor Catherine Zeta-Jones, 43, has filed for divorce or legal separation as of yet, and it is not known if the couple are trying to work out their marital differences in counseling before making the big and final decision to end their marriage for good.
The coupe married back in 2000 at Manhattan's Plaza Hotel. The road to marital bliss has not been an easy one for the A-List couple who, have faced many struggles during their 13-year union with Douglas'' 210 battle with cancer and Catherine Zeta-Jones public battles with bipolar disorder.
“The stress has taken a toll on their marriage,” a friend tells PEOPLE.
