Michael Crabtree questioned in sexual assault; will play in NFC title game

No team in the NFL conference finals ever needs additional off field distractions, but the San Francisco 49ers potentially have a big one on their hands. According to SFgate.com San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree has been questioned about a possible sexual assault.

The gate reports "Michael Crabtree San Francisco police have interviewed 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree about allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman after the team's victory last weekend."

The alleged attack occurred at a hotel just hours after the Niners beat the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional playoffs.

Crabtree has reportedly cooperated with detectives and has not been detained or arrested, and he is expected to play in Sunday's NFC Championship Game against the Atlanta Falcons tomorrow afternoon, but you have to think that this will have an effect on him.

49ers GM Trent Baalke said in a statement "The 49ers take such matters very seriously," "We will have no further comment at this time as the legal process is ongoing."

Crabtree has been a big part of San Francisco’s success over the past month. It will be interesting to see how the 25 year old plays tomorrow in his biggest game as an NFL player so far in his career.
