Miami Fashion Week serves as a gateway for upcoming designers and people in the fashion industry who dream to make it big. Michael Costello, a 29 year old from Palm Springs, CA, was one of those lucky few. Costello held a meet and greet at the Delano Hotel, Friday the 16th before his collection showcase on Saturday, May 17th. Pinnacle Entertainment Group organized the event and Tara Ink provided the PR.

Miami Fashion Network got behind the scenes to chat with the designer, and discovered his love of fashion illustration and design, began at a very young age, his parents thought it was just a phase but Michael knew creating garments was his calling. After opening his own boutique at the age of 15, Costello took an internship with Bob Mackie for a year. Eventually, he was offered a job at Claire’s Collection developing apparel. Celebrities that have been dressed by the designer include Beyoncé, Paris Hilton, Toni Braxton, Selma Hayek and many more.

Temple House was the perfect location to emphasize the luxurious theme of his collection. Deep reds, fierce blacks and heavenly whites paraded the runway, all with detailed reoccurring looks. The assortment had a lot of lower cuts in the front as well as the back; there was a big focus on sheer mesh and lace among the dresses.

The models hair was tousled down with loose curls and a dark lined lip. The audience was also wearing similar colors and tresses, most wearing Michael’s garb. Miami Housewives, Lisa Hochstein and Alexia Echevarria came out to support the designer, Lisa in a fiery red gown by Costello, with low back and train. Alexia supported a long pant jumper with snakeskin pattern and belt. Miami basketball wife, Suzie Ketcham also made an appearance at the show. Michael Yo a comedian from Chelsea Lately and the Insider, was in attendance as well.

A fabulous occasion and undoubtedly, Mr. Costello made a splash with his gorgeous creations. The final walk through ended with the designer and Tamar Braxton walking hand-in-hand. The private after party was held at Cavalli Club Miami in South Beach.
