Michael Biehn, 'Terminator's' Kyle Reese, discusses NOLA Comic Con and new movie

Terminator fans out there know him as the face of Kyle Reese, ultra brave cyborg-battling hero/unsuspecting father of post-apocalyptc humanity's only hope.  Pivotal to the plot of the entire Terminator movie and television series franchise, the character Reese not only saves the life of his general's mom, but he wins her heart and sires the very man who sent him back in time.

Michael Biehn won the hearts of female fans worldwide as well with that windswept hair and convincingly warlorn physique.  For many of us unsuspecting children of the 80s, Biehn embodied our first time travel paradox.

Biehn made his film debut in the movie Grease.  He's appeared in an average of 2-3 films per year since then.  Other credits include:  Corporal Dwayne Hicks of Aliens, the reprisal of his role as Kyle Reese in Terminator 2:  Judgement Day, and Sheriff Hague of Grindhouse.  There are so many more:  Planet Terror, The Abyss, Navy Seals, The Magnificent Seven.  He was part of the cast of Hill Street Blues.

Dionne Charlet:  Speaking on behalf of your Louisiana fans, it is a thrill to have you attending Wizard World New Orleans Comic Con this January!!  Welcome!  How did you get involved with the Wizard World franchise?

Michael Biehn:  "Well, [wife and fellow actress] Jennifer [Blanc] and I went to Chicago with them.... Linda Hamilton and I did some promotion there together and they have been good to us ever since.  We were in Austin in November and it was a great success."

Charlet:  Would you like to offer any words of welcome to your fans traveling to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on the weekend of January 28 and 29, 2012?

Biehn:  "I am very excited to meet you all and to be in this city for the first time .... I am also excited to share my film THE VICTIM with you."

Charlet:  Have you been to New Orleans previously?  Is there any particular food, location or cultural experience that you would like to explore, or return to enjoy again?

Biehn:  "Jennifer shot a movie there and loved it.  This will be my first time in New Orleans, and I'm very excited to see the city and the people."

Charlet:  "I understand your work on the movie Grindhouse inspired you to write, direct and act in The Victim.  What elements of Grindhouse appealed to you?  How do you express them through your movie?
Biehn:  "I wanted to make a film after doing Grindhouse/Planet Terror after being inspired by Robert Rodriguez."

Charlet:  Which do you prefer? Writing, acting or directing?

Biehn:  "I'm enjoying it all.  There is a little something different about each one."

Charlet:  Please tell our readers a little about the decision to premier The Victim to benefit earthquake victims in Japan.

Biehn:  "We were asked to be a part of something and were happy to be there."

Charlet:  You have such a detailed and lengthy body of work.  What do you do to relax?

Biehn:  "I watch movies and YouTube and my streaming Netflix that Jennifer gave me for my birthday.  I also spend time at the park with my son."
