Michael Bethany, protege of famed Commissioned co-founder, producer, songwriter and singer Fred Hammond, has been undeniably graced with favor beyond what he's even imagined. Working on his album slated for release in the second half of 2014, Bethany is poised to share what he's stored up from years of preparation. Humbly Michael speaks on his life in music and traveling the world spreading the word through song.
Music was embedded in Michael Bethany's life early on. He began working with his father's church as worship leader showcasing his love of bringing people into the presence of God. As his steps were ordered, he has sung with Fred Hammond for a number of years. Closely gleaning pearls of wisdom at the hem of such a revered Gospel music icon, Michael's journey into his own musically brought him to this point to release what God has given him.
Speaking to Michael about his passion, you feel its intensity. He's traveled to places that people only dream of visiting. Africa, Europe, Sri Lanka are among the list of destinations he has gone to spread God's word through song. In retrospect, who would've thought that a young man from St. Louis, MO would be afforded such opportunities. Bethany credits God's favor as the vehicle that has brought him thus far. Respectfully, Michael acknowledges being in the trenches of the church as his foundation. In doing so, God has blessed him with the door of opportunity to serve as the Music/Worship Director under the pastorship of Dr. Tony Evans.
It's befitting that his first single off his forthcoming album would be title "Favor (Grace)". Vocally Michael is a force coupled with his heartfelt spirit that shines through causes you to go straight into worship. "Grace without limits. I need your grace that won't fail. Your grace overflowing...Where would I be if it had not been for the Lord on my side..." sings Bethany. "Favor (Grace)" is a song that is destined to tug on the heart strings of the true worshipper.
