Thanks for showing up, Spider-Man, X-men, and Guardians of the Galaxy, but when all is said and done it will be Transformers: Age of Extinction that walks away as the summer box office champ. That assessment comes from what Michael Bay has been able to achieve with the prior films, racking up $2.6B ($1.1B for 'Dark of the Moon' alone) and raising the "wow factor" with each effort. So knock these movies all you wish (and I sure have in my day), but everybody and their grandmother is going to turn out to see Optimus Prime roll out on some Decepticon skull.
A new trailer cut for international audiences has been released and...well, you know what to expect. Lots of robots smashing into one another and stuff getting blown up real good, only now with the long-awaited debut of the Dinobots. Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, and Jack Reynor play the fleshy characters who are expected to help stop the Decepticons and evil humans looking to exploit Transformer technology.
Transformers: Age of Extinction opens June 27th.
