Michael Baisden announces departure from radio

At about 9:30 a.m. this morning, The Baisden Live Facebook page announced that the well-known, nationally-syndicated radio host, Michael Baisden, will no longer be live on the air. His last show will be March 29, 2013.

This announcement is abrupt, unexpected and the likelihood result of some behind the scenes issues that will probably remain unknown. Michaelbaisden.com is all but shut down with only a link to his Facebook announcement and advertisements.

Michael Baisden is one of radio's most influential and controversial voices. He is passionate about equal rights for everyone and injustices such as the Jena 6 and Trayvon Martin where his voice and leadership helped move these certain issues to the front burner of our society. He has walked along sides with President Barack Obama, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and other prominent black figures.

Calls to Cumulus Media, Michael Basiden's syndicator have not been returned.

In his commentary, Mr. Baisden does not offer any specifics as to why he is leaving but says that the “details about what happened are not important”. This will leave a big hole in his radio fans hearts as to why he is leaving his radio show for good. However, Mr. Baisden references his belief of the Spiritual Path and promises to stay in touch via Facebook and Twitter and indicated plans to be very active in the community by starting mentoring programs and networking organizations.
