Miami and Jungle Island are about to go to the dogs (and cats) this evening. The Humane Society of Greater Miami is holding its 3rd annual Pawpurrazzi held at the beautiful Jungle Island, an event which benefits the Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet. Philanthropist Patricia Wallace will serve as chairman of Pawpurrazzi 2010 for the second year in a row. The Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet is dedicated to placing every dog and cat in THEIR care into a loving home, and to promote responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter programs. Animals who enter the doors are safe from the threat of euthanasia, have a roof over their heads and a good meal until a permanent home comes along. The Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet serves thousands of abandoned and homeless animals each year. As the lead fundraiser, the success of Pawpurrazzi is critical to the Humane Society of Greater Miami. It’s not too late to attend Pawpurrazzi 2010, especially if you want to support this great charity and take your pet out on the town on a gorgeous Miami night.
This celebrated event tonight features a night of “Cats” performed by the University of Miami Theatre Arts Department, a gourmet buffet provided by Jungle Islands catering, music and fashion. Attendees will include some of Miami’s celebrated and most influential pet loving advocates and celebrity attendees. No one knows for sure who will show up from year to year but former Pawpurrazzi supporters included Miami Dolphins Jason Taylor, Star Jones, even some of the brothers Gibb of the Bee Gees!
Tonight’s evening of glamour and fun highlights the community’s most committed pet owners and the dogs that walk with them. All pets who attend will enjoy pampering, doggie makeovers, an ice cream bar and for one night only, Purina One is opening their own Bistro for your babies to enjoy fine cuisine too! The highlight of the event is the “Great Pets Who Walk in Front of Great People” show where select guests and their dog(s) will be featured on the runway.
The prices are: $350, $500, $750 and $1,000 per person. Remember that the proceeds are critical for all little pups and kitty residents of the Humane Society of Greater Miami to be well cared for while waiting for their forever homes. The humane society protects and provides lots of TLC for their homeless pet residents for as long as it takes to find them a home. They run two veterinary clinics, one in North Miami Beach and another in Cutler Bay providing low-cost and free spay/neuter surgeries and preventive healthcare vaccines. More than 250 homeless dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are cared for every day in their shelter. They are a not-for-profit charitable animal welfare organization supported solely by donations, private grants and fundraising events. They do not receive any government funding or any money from other animal welfare organizations. To learn more, visit www.humanesocietymiami.org or call 305-749-1815.
