Miami police confirm Justin Bieber's arrest on Twitter: 'He was incoherent'

Justin Bieber is in trouble with the law again. The latest legal issue for the 19-year-old pop star? He was arrested in Miami for drag racing and DUI.

Miami police confirmed on Twitter at 3:55 a.m. on Jan. 23, 2014 that Bieber was indeed arrested shortly before 4 a.m. ET Thursday morning.

"#BreakingNews confirming @justinbieber has been arrested for DUI & Drag Racing more info & press release coming."

Miami Beach Police Sgt. Bobby Hernandez told the Orlando Sun-Sentinel that Bieber "was pulled over and failed a field sobriety test."

Bieber, 19, was driving a rented Lamborghini at the time of his arrest. The Miami Herald reports that the singer and his entourage used their cars to block traffic in the area of Pine Tree Drive at 26th Street in Miami early on Thursday morning so they could drag race.

Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez told the Herald that tests show that Bieber was under the influence of drugs and alcohol, "was incoherent, had his hands in his pockets and resisted arrest without violence."
