BlogHer is bringing it's food conference to Miami this week and local moms should be paying attention. Whether an avid blogger or the thought has crossed your mind, the conference has something for everyone. Sessions run the gamut from how to build core business strength to how to take great food photos.
With the ticket being upwards of $400, the question is if it is a worthwhile investment. "Absolutely," says BlogHer Co-Founder Elisa Camahort Page , "Attending BlogHer Food, or any conference brings you two values: learning in a hands-on, real-time environment where you can get questions answered or see things unfold in front of you and in-person networking." There will certainly be a lot of networking going on. The conference is slated to have 500 attendees and 35 sponsors.
Miami moms should also consider that the event is in their own backyard - the Downtown Miami Hilton. Airfare, hotel and meals would increase the cost of attending any other conference. Blogger tickets include the Expo Hall, panels, meals served and attendance at official parties.
Among the highlights of the conference are the "Innovator Interview" with chef, author and blogger David Lebovitz, the closing party with Ree Drummond and numerous cooking demos that will feature everything from how to make kambouchi to how to accommodate for food allergies.
Miami moms considering blogging should be in attendance as well. Elisa recommends that those starting a blog begin by "listening, finding their passion and taking some time to cultivate it." A process they can certainly start at BlogHer Food.
