The tension was obviously pretty thick at Miami Marlins baseball camp after this pitch from prospect Jose Fernandez. Marlins star Giancarlo Stanton was drilled pretty hard as his helmet flew off from the impact.
The scene after the pitch was obviously pretty awkward as Stanton walked off the field, with Fernandez looking around probably remembering that he should try not to hit his own teammates with the ball.
Later Fernandez caught up to Stanton and shared their conversation. "When I asked him how he was doing, he laughed," Fernandez said. "I told him I was sorry. He said, 'Bro, it's OK. It's baseball. It happens."
Fernandez also added "He’s a good teammate and a great person. It’s not a good feeling, I promise you that. I feel like (crap) right now."
Yahoo! Sports reports that Stanton was later seen icing his the back of his neck, and the team has not yet indicated if he was showing any signs of a concussion.
