Miami International Art Fair is back this week

The third Miami International Art Fair (MIA) is back January 12 through 16. The five-day feast for the eyes presents emerging artists to the Miami area. 28 international galleries will be representing over 100 artists.

Sculpture Miami is another feature of the week, which is a waterside sculpture exhibit in Bayfront Park. Over 30 large pieces will be on public display.

Media includes photography, painting, mixed-media, sculpture and video. The mission of the fair is to showcase galleries representing the most talented and visionary artists of the 21st century.

A "Meet the Artist Series," starting Friday, January 13, will feature the artists presenting their work to the public, where collectors may meet and chat with the artists. The artists will sign books, have small talks and present at various booths. This is included in price of admission.

The Fair starts with a private preview on Thursday, January 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm for members of the MOCA Shakers. The MOCA Shakers are a group of 21 to 45 year olds who network and socialize in the name of art and philanthropy.
