According to reports from ESPN on Mar. 3, 2013, the Miami Heat had signed veteran forward, Juwan Howard to a 10-day contract to help shoulder the load on the club's front line.
Howard was part of the Heat's NBA Championship winning squad last season and according to his former Miami head coach turned club President, Pat Riley, Howard's return is one of calculated importance:
Juwan is a key part of the championship culture here in Miami.
He is essential to this team and can still play this game at a high level in some of our biggest games yet to come. He has a unique veteran savvy and will provide leadership and experience to our team.
Juwan Howard's return to the club sees the Heat have four of the top 20 all-time NBA leading scorers on their roster at the start of March and will see them hope to continue their strong form in the top of the conference.
