Miami Heat rumors link Caron Butler to the franchise again. As a buyout of Butler approaches for the Milwaukee Bucks, many Miami Heat rumors have surfaced about him becoming the latest weapon in South Beach. According to a report from CBS on Wednesday (Feb. 26), the Bucks were very close to reaching an agreement with the veteran small forward to part ways.
There are several teams that could be good fits for the soon-to-be free agent that includes the San Antonio Spurs. It had been suggested that the Spurs have their eyes on Danny Granger, though, possibly clearing the way for LeBron James to get another player that can help spread the floor. The LA Clippers basically gave up on the 33-year-old when they shipped him to Milwaukee in the offseason and he hasn't had a really good season. Averaging 24.1 minutes a night, he was putting up 11.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
It's almost fitting that there are so many Miami Heat rumors out there about Caron Butler, because now the possibility is there that he could finish his NBA career in the same place it started. He was an important piece to the franchise back in 2004, but got dealt to the LA Lakers in the huge trade that brought back Shaquille O'Neal. Since then he has made his way around the league to teams like the Washington Wizards, Dallas Mavericks, LA Clippers, and then the Bucks. Now he will likely join a new franchise when he clears waivers on Friday (Feb. 28) at the earliest.
